Understanding the work
Questions about the consultancy approach.
-
I help organisations identify the structural conditions driving persistent workplace problems such as burnout, turnover, leadership friction, operational overload, governance ambiguity, and organisational instability.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, the work examines the organisational systems shaping those outcomes including governance structures, leadership systems, work design, accountability pathways, operating rhythms, and decision-making conditions.
The objective is to help leaders make clearer, more strategic decisions capable of creating sustainable organisational improvement.
-
Many workplace interventions focus primarily on individuals.
For example:
resilience training
communication workshops
wellbeing initiatives
engagement programmes
While these approaches can provide support, they often fail to address the organisational systems generating the problem.
My work focuses on understanding:
what conditions are producing strain
where organisational friction exists
how governance influences operational experience
how leadership systems are functioning
what strategic leverage points exist
The focus is systems-level clarity rather than surface-level symptom management.
-
I primarily work with:
CEOs
COOs
Executive leadership teams
People & Culture leaders
Boards and governance groups
Mid-sized organisations
Education providers
Healthcare and community organisations
Governance-heavy environments
These organisations are often navigating workforce instability, burnout, operational complexity, leadership pressure, psychosocial risk concerns, or organisational change.
-
Examples include:
burnout and workforce exhaustion
retention instability
leadership friction
operational drag
governance ambiguity
stalled transformation initiatives
psychosocial risk concerns
organisational fragmentation
executive decision fatigue
competing priorities and operational overload
Often, these challenges are interconnected rather than isolated.
-
Depending on the engagement, the work may involve:
organisational diagnostics
strategic advisory
executive workshops
facilitated leadership sessions
governance discussions
implementation guidance
strategic decision support
However, the primary focus is systems-level organisational analysis and strategic clarity rather than individual executive coaching.
How engagements work
Questions about process and engagement structure.
-
Most engagements begin with a discovery conversation.
This allows us to:
understand the organisational context
explore the patterns the organisation is experiencing
clarify what support may be most useful
determine whether a workshop, diagnostic, or advisory approach is appropriate
The goal is not to force organisations into a predefined process.
The goal is to identify what level of systems analysis and strategic support is actually needed.
-
This depends on the level of organisational complexity and the type of engagement.
For example:
Reframe Workshops are typically shorter focused engagements
Diagnostics involve deeper organisational analysis over a longer timeframe
Strategy and advisory support may continue through implementation phases
Timeframes are designed around organisational context rather than rigid consulting packages.
-
Yes.
Although based in Christchurch, New Zealand, I work with organisations more broadly depending on the nature of the engagement.
Many aspects of the work can be delivered remotely where appropriate.
-
Depending on the engagement, this may include:
leadership interviews
stakeholder conversations
systems mapping
governance analysis
organisational document review
operational pattern analysis
evidence synthesis
strategic workshops
The approach is designed to build a more complete understanding of how organisational systems are functioning in practice.
-
Following a diagnostic engagement, organisations receive strategic insight designed to support clearer decision-making.
This may include:
leverage-point identification
governance recommendations
implementation priorities
organisational stabilisation strategies
leadership alignment guidance
strategic sequencing
Where appropriate, ongoing advisory support can also assist implementation and organisational transition.
Services and scope
-
Services include Reframe Workshops, organisational diagnostics, strategy development, leadership readouts, advisory sessions, follow-up reviews, and ongoing strategic support. Engagements can be standalone or combined into a broader programme of work.
-
Yes. Some clients engage me to address a particular challenge such as burnout, retention, governance concerns, leadership conflict, psychosocial risk, or stalled transformation efforts. Often, these issues reveal wider organisational patterns that also warrant attention.
-
Most engagements include discovery, evidence gathering, analysis, synthesis of findings, strategic recommendations, and leadership discussion. Deliverables vary depending on the nature of the work.
-
Yes. While some organisations engage me solely for diagnostic insight, others continue into advisory support to help maintain clarity, alignment, and momentum as changes are implemented.

Investment and logistics
-
Fees are based on the scope, complexity, and requirements of the engagement. Following an initial conversation, I provide a clear proposal outlining deliverables, timelines, and investment.
-
Because every organisation is different, there is no standard fee. Smaller workshops require a lower investment, while comprehensive diagnostics and advisory engagements involve a broader scope. Investment is discussed transparently during the scoping process.
-
Discovery conversations can usually be scheduled within a few weeks. Project commencement depends on current availability and the scale of the engagement.
-
I am based in Christchurch, New Zealand. I work with organisations throughout New Zealand and can travel where appropriate. Many engagements can also be delivered effectively online.
